Japanese Maples

Japanese Maples (Acer palmatum and Acer palmatum var. dissectum) are one of the most versatile group of landscape trees. They come in virtually all shapes and sizes, low-growing shrubby types to tall, upright tree forms. They can be trained as espaliers or pruned in a formal Japanese-style. The most sought-after varieties are the cutleaf red cultivars, such as ‘Crimson Queen’ and ‘Garnet’. Many experts find the green-leaved varieties even more spectacular as they offer a wide range of fall colours – from bright yellows to glowing oranges and brilliant reds.
